This chain saw from DeWalt has a short 20cm bar, making it perfect for pruning. The small bar size allows the whole unit to be extremely compact and lightweight, so much so that it can be used one-handed. When using two handed, there is a guard to protect the hand. One of the unique features of this saw is the kickback guard, fastened to the end of the bar. This aids in preventing injury during a kickback event, where it uses the branch itself to stop the backwards movement of the saw. An excellent quality-of-life improvement for this saw over others is the captive blade tensioner nut which is held by the rear blade guard, preventing it from being lost. The included tool for adjustment of the blade tension can actually be stored within the blade guard itself. The front blade guard means that the maximum cutting capacity is 150mm, still plenty to do pruning of large branches or small trees. One of the most impressive features of this saw considering its small size is the automatic oiler, with an onboard oil tank capacity of 55ml.
